Sam is a doctoral student in historical musicology. He received his MPhil in Musicology from Christ Church, University of Oxford in 2019 and his BA in Music and Comparative Literature from Emory University in 2017. His research interests are centered around 19th-century intellectual property law and ontologies of music, Wagner and Wagnerism, and the reception of ancient music in the Renaissance.

In his free time, Sam studies wine and its history and is a candidate for the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Diploma in Wine and Spirits.
