Samora Pinderhughes: The Healing Project

John Knowles Paine Concert Hall

Samora Pinderhughes and ArtLab invite you to a free performance of The Healing Project at Harvard’s Paine Concert Hall on April 30, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Pinderhughes is a renowned artist who uses music, visual arts, film, and language to create thought-provoking works that raise awareness of social issues. This performance is part of a Harvard University Committee on the Arts (HUCA) commission and made possible with the support of the Johnson-Kulukundis Family President’s Fund for Arts.

The Healing Project is a recipient of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant and a testament to the power of collective empathy. Through original music, Pinderhughes aims to amplify the voices of those affected by incarceration, policing, violence, and detention, creating a shared experience of understanding and compassion. This concert is not just a performance but a unique opportunity to engage with Pinderhughes’s ongoing research and upcoming residency at ArtLab. During this residency, he will collaborate with colleagues across the university to design a space for healing. As a Harvard graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in Creative Practice and Critical Inquiry (CPCI) at the Harvard Department of Music, Pinderhughes is excited to involve you in this journey.
