Sushrita Acharjee

2025 – 2026 Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellow

Sushrita Acharjee is a Fulbright-Nehru Visiting Fellow at the Music Department of Harvard University for the AY 2025-26. In India, she is enrolled as a Ph.D. candidate at Jadavpur University, and serves as an Assistant Professor of English literature at the School of Liberal Arts and Culture Studies at Adamas University. She received her formal training in English literature in Kolkata and Delhi. She has also been learning the Hindustani classical violin. Sushrita has contributed her research to edited volumes published by Bloomsbury and Routledge. Her research has previously been supported by Charles Wallace India Trust Foundation, UK, Sahapedia-UNESCO, New Delhi, and History for Peace at Seagull Foundation for the Arts, Kolkata, India. At Harvard, she is auditing seminars to further her training in ethnomusicology while conducting archival and library research for her Ph.D. dissertation on refugee music from the Bangladesh War of 1971.
