Premiere: "Entf (Backspace)" by Yvette Janine Jackson

Deutschlandfunk Kultur presents the premiere of Yvette Janine Jackson's new radio opera Entf. (Backspace) commissioned by Cashmere Radio. 

Yvette Janine Jackson’s immersive audio piece “Entf (Backspace)” links historical events with pressing social questions against the backdrop of the space tourism industry.

Using techniques from radio plays and musique concrète, Yvette Janine Jackson transports her audience to other realms. The British newspaper The Guardian has described her works as "films without images." In "Entf (Backspace)," archival materials, found texts, field recordings, a chamber ensemble, and a modular synthesizer merge into a dense soundscape and an exploration of language and identity.
